Yes, Célestin\se.lɛs.tɛ̃\. That’s me!  Born and bre(a)d in France.

I started digital marketing in 2014 in the UK, and I’m now based in Japan since 2022. I worked at various places doing Digital Marketing things, namely PPC, SEO and strategy.

I’m shy and introverted… but if you insist.

• I speak three and a half languages. I’ll let you figure out which ones.
• I hold a degree in English studies, but I spend most days on Excel (and reddit).
• My true passion is eating. It sounds like I’m a pig (reminder: it’s the case), but I’m more on the gourmet side…
• I like eating and singing, but not at the same time, unless it’s at an izakaya with karaoke.
• I hold WSET qualifications, which means I know the difference between red and white wines (spoiler alert: it’s the colour!).

I’m working on my own Digital Marketing consultancy business at L’atelier Lapin.

It sounds grand, but I’m clearly not a builder pig: my office is literally (literal use of the word “literally”)  in a dark corner of my bedroom*.

I’m mostly working by myself on digital marketing, no outsourcing, no employee on that front. I help with high-level consulting, including creating and directing strategies, (re)branding and of course, acquisition.

I’ve never stopped working on operational PPC, and I’m still working on PPC as of today.

I also do SEO when I feel like it. I’m very picky with SEO projects!

*If you really want to know, my office is a repurposed tokonoma (床の間). The flooring is about 3 to 4cm thin. It’s freezing in winter, and it’s boiling in summer.

There’s not even Analytics on this website: I have a ZERO TRACKING policy on this website. 

It’s free, sure. I post stuff on reddit anyway on my free time, how does that make a difference?

Of course, I work for money. That’s the only reason why I’m not chilling in a resort all year round, actually.

I will eventually get some kind of publicity from putting myself out there, but it’s not like I’ll get money from every single reader either.

For a blog about digital marketing, I have made the conscious choice of having a NO TRACKING policy.

Again, there isn’t any form of 3rd party analytical tool on this website.

This means I am not trying to optimise for SEO purposes actively, and UX is what I feel is good – although the delivery is a bit limited because I’m not a developer!

It’s a safe space, I meant it: and that’s the best UX I can offer you!

It’s not that bad, is it? I tested it on 3 devices, isn’t that good enough? It’s more than what most people do, I’m sure…

Do you really sincerely think from the deepest depth of your being that ChatGPT is capable of such poor humour? 

Well, if it is capable of that much, my hat’s off. I’ll have to reconsider my career and cancel my plans for my future stand-up comedy shows… but no, I don’t use ChatGPT for any of the content published on this website.

I take my own “no outsourcing” policy very seriously: I only use ChatGPT for emotional support anyway.

In the beginning, I thought I was going to use it for something related to Pay per Click (PPC) advertising…

… it turns out that I had better plans with Practical Pig Consult(.ing), where I can write content about anything Digital Marketing and not just PPC (Pay Per Click).

Who am I kidding? I came up with it on the spot. I was also thinking about Petit Petit Cochon (Little Little Pig in French)… but all things considered, that sounded rather dodgy.

Practical is the name of the third little pig in the old Disney movie, “The Three Little Pigs” from the Silly Symphony collection.

On this website, I am hoping to deal with practical issues mostly, with real world examples, which you’ll find on the blog. Those real examples are taken from questions from supposedly real people on reddit as well.

To tell you the truth, my actual house is made of wood, I didn’t build it myself, I don’t have a chimney, I’m rather tall, I can’t play the piano like he does, and I’m probably nowhere as tasty as the little pig. 

I’m the third and last son in my family however, so there’s that…?
